ALARM MALFUNCTION 850

Greetings,

My latest problem occurred yesterday on my way home.Stopped to do an errand, locked my car as usual. When I re-opened the door, the alarm sounded, lights flashing, car would not start! I then disconnected the battery, waited a few minutes and reconnected. Everything fine after that, but I haven't tried locking the car since. The car is a 94 850 turbo with factory alarm system.
Any advice would be great

Thanks,

Geoff

Did you use a key fob to unlock the car? Try using your key. Lock your car and then unlock it twice before opening the door. That should disarm the alarn.

No, I don't even have a key fob. I simply unlocked door as usual.
Any other ideas?

I've noticed on my '93 850 that the driver's side lock unlocks a few seconds ahead of the others, and if I open the driver's door before the other locks are up, the alarm goes off. You might check for that happening.
I was able to shut the alarm off by reinserting the key in the door and repeating the lock-unlock procedure. Once I learned to make sure all the locks are up, I have had no problems.
