Tire Hum/Roar? V70-XC70 2001

Hello XC experts!! Been a long time 850 Turbo poster(208,000 miles) and just got the Cross Country(41,000 miles). Only complaint has been the tire noise. The Volvo dealer installed replacement Pirelli Scorpion OEM tires before we bought it. Are these tires known for being excessively loud(particularly around 30 mph)? Any input is gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

And may I add that they wear out quickly! I replaced the original Scorpions on my 2001 XC with Michelin HydroEdge. I only had 10,000kms on them when I got my 2004 XC70. To the dealer's surprise, I immediately replaced the new Scorpions with the slightly used HydroEdge tires. The Michelin's are an excellent 3 season tire and I have Nokian Hakkapeliitta 2's for the winter on steel wheels. The only thing positive that I can add about the Scorpion is that they are better than the HydroEdge in snow.

It may be an option to ask your dealer to take back the Scorpions now and replace them with Michelins, otherwise you'll have to suffer for another 40,000 miles as opposed to more than double that mileage for the much quieter HydroEdge.

Yep, noisy and hard, especially on concrete. Keep the windows rolled up!
