Air Bag removal 850 1994

A few weeks back I smashed our 850 into a truck. We bought the car back because we have alot of performance parts on it insurance wouldn't cover. So we took those off but we want to strip the rest of the car. Including the interior. Before we do that though, we want to get the Airbags out, without them pulling a pyrotecnics act on us.

So how do you remove them?

Car is a 94 850Turbo.

If there is anything anyone needs. Just let me know

    Not just the airbags are forsale... pretty much everything on the car can go, minus the engine (but AC/power steering stuff can go) the tranny, suspension, interior (minus the stereo).... etc etc

    That is easy enough, just remove the upper dash pad and the passenger's side air bag will come with it. To pull the driver's side you unscrew the two torx head bolts that go in from the back. Just disconnect the battery first and you should be fine.

    Leave the battery disconnected for at least 15 minutes then unscrew the Torx screws from the back side of the steering wheel and the bag pops out of the wheel. They're only worth a few bucks anyway. They're on Ebay all the time. On the passenger side dash you need to remove the glove compartment and the screws are accessable from behind.

      Just curious if the damage is isolated to the frontal area of the car...any thoughts on selling the entire car (minus the bits you've salvaged, of course)? Price? Location? Thanx in advance.

        The car was hit in the front. The hood is junk, one fender is junk. I'm in Kamloops BC Canada. We slid under someones rear bumper. Thier tow hitch dug into the front bumper cover a bit. Possible we'd sell complete, but your probably a long ways away. If there are any parts you need, just send me an e-mail at my junk hotmail account nasty47@hotmail.com

          I drive long haul for a living (although, lately, work's been a little sparse), so the distance isn't all that intimidating...price however might be. Let me know what the whole car's going for, and we can work from there. thanks, Dan (705) 529 9542.
