Still looking for sound advice for my Manual Climate Control (MCC) 98 S70

Hello and Happy Holidays to all. I'm still looking for some sound advice on how to deal with my malfunctioning Manual Climate Control (MCC). First off my function selector is not working properly as far as I can tell. No matter what position I put it in I do not get a noticeable change in air flow. I'm getting a small amount of air flow out of all the vents no matter what position the switch is in. Second my blower sounds like it is on its last leg. It runs very labored and puts out almost no air flow. When I put it on its highest setting it groans and sounds like it going to die out at any moment. It has blown a fuse once and I no longer run it at its highest setting for fear that it will repeat this again. Thinking that the blower problem is a result of running against a clogged cabin filter (forgot about that hard to find thing). Not sure about the climate control module. Will I have to replace both and if so how do I go about the removal process??? Oh and the Recir. light blinks for a second or 2 when the car is first started. What fault does this indicate?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
