occasional long crank before starting V70-XC70 2002

Strange situation. I have had the car for 10 months now and very satisfied. The car has 90,000Km ( 55K miles ) and since I got it, I experienced a few occasions when the engine would crank more than usual before starting (happened when hot and also cold). When started runs like a charm. Also a few times the car started just fine but as soon as it fired up it stopped . It restarted normally and ran smooth like a baby. Also a few times after roughly 11-15 secs after starting it it misses only once (without stopping)as if there was an air bubble going through.

Does anyone have an idea ?
Are these 3 different cases related to the same "problem" ?

Thanks for your help.

I just finished troubleshooting what may be a similar problem. Hard starting, shudder and shake. See my post about 1 month ago. Turns out it was the gasoline. We get our fuel from a station close by. Always the high octane. The solution fell into place when we took a long road trip and filled up at a station miles away. The problem completely dissappeared. I guess we kept filling up with the same junk for 3-4 weeks. Makes sense it would take that long for the ground tank to run out - costlier price.

Hope it turns out to be that easy.

Your cars symptoms are identical to the ones my 2002 V70 had when the Electronic Throttle Control began to fail. When it did finally fail, the car wouldn't start and when it had these symptoms I never had a check engine light or error message of any kind. My ETC failed at 15,500 miles.
