Climate Control - Blinking Lights S70 1999

Hi All,

This is regarding my '99 S70.

When starting the blower fan, it runs for a couple seconds then stops and the Rec and A/C on lights start blinking. I read a few previous threads and have already cleaned-up the cabin temperature sensor as a possible cure but I had no luck. I've read that there are sensors next to handles above the front door, but could not find them. Where are they exactly? Any other ideas?

I dread going to the dealer. It's never cheap.

Thanks,
Bill

Try removing the sensor and clean / lubricate the small fan.

The sensors above the doors were only on the 850's

There will be a fault code stored in the module so it's best to get it read before you go any further with expensive guess work.

You can use this software to read the codes:

most likely and ECC failure. You'll need to replace the unit. It also could be some dirt/dust on the sensor (or so i've been told).
