Klunk / knock when applying brake 850

Hi:
My 1996 850T has been having a strange probelm. It's been going on for over a year, but seems to be worsening lately. As I'm braking I hear a strange, almost metallic knocking noise. I don't feel it in the car, brake pedal, etc, just hear it. It used to be right before I'd come to a complete stop, now it's more as I'm slowing down. It just happens once.
The mechanic I use isn't hearing this, does anyone have any ideas? I'm afraid this could be transmission, but wouldn't I feel it in the car?
thanks in advance --

Klunk / knock when applying brake 850

I hear the same "klunk" when applying my brake (occassionally) as you do.
    I also have a 850T yr:1997
I have about 65000 miles on it. and pamper it. though I strayed from the dealer service shop for my 60,000 service and tried a local shop.. they did a "fair" job - but didn't notice the knock either. -- It also took them 3 tries to bleed the brakes properly..
Though they did tell me that I had an "oil seep in the Turbo" & a "seep in the Master Cylander"
These 2 things were discovered after I showed them a napkin w/ dripped oil on it after I brought my car home and told them something wasn't right.
I don't believe the 2 seeps are related to the "knock/Klunk" -- however, I had heard that the "turbo" models have more issues than the non-turbos..
Like you, I too would like to know what's up and have it fixed.

    Anyone else have a clue?
    Peggy
