Hello everyone.
Here is the problem, the passenger side door (chrome handle) will not actuate. it seems to be stuck. the door will only open if you open it from the outside. the locking mechanism works fine. is there a rod or actuator that i need to click back into place or something by removing door panel? please let me know. car is now out of warranty. cha-chiiiiing.

    Correct. There is a rod which might have come loose, going from the handle to the back edge of the door. I assume you can hear movement inside the door panel when you move the lever.
    Taking off the panel is a PITA and then you will have to lift the clear plastic water shield off. Are you sure you want to do this?

      i removed the door panel and futzed with the lock, managed to fix the handle mechanism. put it all back - its all done now. i found a new problem in the back right door - the switch will put the window down but not raise it. the master control will raise and lower it just fine. the switch clearly has gone bad. what do i do differently to remove the rear switch?

        I've used an old fashioned wooden clothes pin ( the kind with the spring in the center). Wrap some friction tape around the business ends, insert in the switch well, expand and pull up.

        The window switch will pop straight up and out. I use a bent safety pin. It's probably a loose wire.

    If it's the back door there is a child lock on the edge of the door that needs to to be switched?
