How to check TRANNY level 850 1995

Hi ..

I just flushed my tranny and I need to know how to check the tranny level. The engine has to be running like the American cars ?
The dipstick have two mark , one for cold and one for hot and they give me different reading every time.
Please advise.

Thank you all !!

If you want to check the level hot, just drive the car 10-15 miles . The fluid will be as hot as its gona get. Park on a level spot, run your selector thru all gears and put it park, engine ideling. Pull the stick, wipe it off and reinsert. Pull and read and make sure you read the hot side of the stick

Don't you love it? How hot is hot when I don't have a thermometer to check it? That's why I only check the tranny when it has been parked overnight and is cold. Start the car, move the lever back and forth a few times and check the level. Then turn the car off. Make sure you are looking at the cold side of the dip stick.
