transmission not kicking down or changing gears during kick down 850 1995

my transmission in my 854 turbo does not seem to be kicking down even on full throttle. I would step all the way down on the gas and transmission will not change gears sometime..i watch the turbo boost gauge and it seems to go all the way to the right during kickdown but does not come automatically to the left after kicking down...

in sport mode it seems to work a little better..could be the sport and econoy switch..??

Since you don't have a flashing arrow indicating a transmission code, it is not likely to be a sensor or switch. Check A1 for possible codes that your car has not alerted you to. Also, check your transmission fluid level and condition. Is it low? Is it dirty? Is it thin? I'd be opting for a fluid problem of some sort.

However, a turbo that is failing/locking up will "feel" like a transmission problem. When your car is cool, take the hose off of the turbo, and see if it spins freely by hand. Let us know,

Chris

Many people recommend ATF flush, it makes a big difference if you have old ATF replaced. You will find information here:

Good luck!

I NEVER recommend a full flush on a car that hasn't had the fluid changed regularly. Truly, I have experienced it causing more harm than good. A partial flush/change with synthetic every month for three months seems to work a whole lot better. I have had so many problems with slipping transmissions after a full flush. The Superlubes down the street from me sell them all the time, before I put it in my newsletter not to do that, I was getting an easy two transmission jobs each month.
