Hello all..I appreciate the previous assist with the bevel gear, ABS Trac light etc...My battery died and when I charged it the radio asked for a code which I do not have! Does anyone have any suggestions? thnx Tom

I am considering buying a used '98 V70, but it only has a tape player. I want to buy a replacement factory CD player (used - not a new one that costs a fortune), which I have found online, but now I am concerned that once I get it, I won't be able to get it to work due to the preset code. Is the code specific to the car or to the radio? If it's specific to the radio, I don't see how they could sell these and expect them to work for anyone. Thanks in advance.

The code is supplied on a cedit card sized card in the owners manual
along with a note to remove it. Have a look, it could still be
there. It is just a 4 digit number you enter using the presets.

A dealer can also look it up by VIN.

Call your dealer, and with the VIN they'll provide the code for you

So my mechanic will be able to handle this? (I dont use Volvo dealership)

Your mechanic won't be able to help you with this one. The radio code
is a theft security code and only the dealer has it and you need the
VIN. Some dealerships require you to show proof of ownership to release
the code.

Once you get the code, save it in a secure place and just punch the
code into the radio and then radio works.
