What do ALL dealer do? They call a local auto glass place and a guy comes out and does the job in the parking lot (or indoors if winter and cold out).

I know as I've worked in dealers since the dawn of time and that's what they all do, no matter who made the car.
You should be given the option of OEM vs aftermarket glass too.

It then could be done at your house or place of employment too, depending on the glass company. Those guys do that for a living.

My thought is the windshield is a structural member on most cars, not
just Volvos. A good shop should know what they are doing and should be
able to do the job correctly. Delaers probably send it out (and they
know who the good shops are). As I understand it, the process of
installation is important for a good bond. The windshield has to be
very clean (no human fingerprints on it) and there are probably
temperature requirements, etc. (I guess the manufactures of the
bonding agents call all of this out).

I'd stay away from the ones that do it in your driveway -- I'm not sure
how they can control temperature, cleanleness, etc. to the same extent
as an indoor shop could.
