Oil Pan

My wife hit a pot hole with her S70 non-turbo '98. There is a 1/2" long, 1/8" wide gap in the bottom of the oil pan. Can this be welded, or sealed somehow?\
Or do I need to replace the oil pan?? What is the oil pan made from Carbon steel??

    How deep is the "wound"? Is it leaking?

    Oil pan is alluminum. Safest bet is to replace it.
