Anyone out there know of a good wax I can buy easily at a store? I have a red car that has some oxidation on the hood.

    Meguiar's Deep Crystal system 1-2-3 (cleaner-polish-wax) with an orbital buffer. Meguiar's Gold Class wax instead of Deep Crystal leaves a glossier shine but seems to wear off faster. Good Luck.

    you bought a red car..thats the issue, red paint just aint stable (ask anyone who colour mixes red auto paint for a living....) you can wax it to death but if it sees the sun it oxidises...thats just red paint for you...

    PS if you want to find out if ANY panel has ever been repainted park the car under a sodium street light at night (thats the ones with the yellow colour cast) and any difference in paint will jump out at you...

    (usefull trick to know if your ever going to look at buying a red car...)

    I like Zymol. But if you've got oxidation I would look at one of the Meguiar cleaners and finish restorers. I use a Porter Cable 7424 orbital buffer too. Doing it by hand is just not fun anymore.
