need CD changer for 2002 V40 S40-V40 2002

Hello all,

I would like to put a cd changer into my 2004 V40.

I have the factory tape/fm radio. Are there any options besides the volvo factory model? It is both expensive and feature poor.

I would very much prefer a solution which allows for control of the CD changer from the existing radio. I don't like the idea of having an additional controller for an FM modulated integration.

Barring that, has anyone replaced the whole unit with a satisfactory aftermarket solution or found another good option?

I am going to go back to the dealer and ask exactly what I got for the $20 "CD changer ready" option. According to the installers I have spoken with, Volvo doesn't work with any other systems.

thanks!

im selling a 10 disc changer that would work. Asking $350 for it, its OEM Volvo and plugs right into the cable hanging from the top of your trunk.

e-mail if you want a picture or more details

I have a 2000 s40 (which I believe has the same cd changer needs) which I just put an alpine s630 changer in with a peripheral volil adapter to allow control from the factory unit. I bought it from Crutchfield and had it installed at Tweeter. Everything together was less than $300.
