98 v70 going out of certified warranty V70-XC70

I have a 98 v70 wagon, the certified warranty ends the middle of next month
any common things that I should have them look at?
I was in a couple of weeks ago they put a new abs control unit in
I have the ususal klunking in front end over bumps[probably the sway bar links]
I am pretty sure I still have the original evaporator but right now its not
being troublesome, also I have the turbo engine in my vehicle, any leaks I should
look for-this is my last chance before making the leap to a full cash customer
Thank You
James

I'm very sorry.

But seriously, I love Volvos (have two now and had an 850 for 5 years previously), but the newer ones are more, let us say, auto garage friendly? When my 1999 V70 goes out of warranty in 1-1/2 years I will have to take a hard look at replacing it. If everything has been well for a while and if I have a good feeling about how things are going (see various posts for known problems) I will keep it. If not (i.e., some known problems are starting to surface) I will trade it in. Of course I will trade it in on another warranteed Volvo (unless a good gas-electric hybrid is available, that has good crash safety ratings).

My 1993 940 will probably out live me.

Good luck.

Take it to someone who really knows Volvos and have it checked over. You might also pull an oil sample from both engine and transmission and let a lab check it out for you.

Now ya need to start................... V70-XC70

performing "risk analysis" every 6 months on the car to decide if you continue to "roll the dice" on possible failures! Its only time and money!
