I was just told by my dealer that they have received the upgrade procedure from Volvo. This is good news, since many people have spent serious money on fixing this problem.

      Hi Bill,
      There are many posts on this, but basically. The pump is located behind the fender protector, (around tire). It is prone to collecting moisture and failing. It gives you braking assist right after startup, untill the engine vacuum takes over. They are replacing pump, and relocating it as well.
