Starting Problem 850

Help! I've had my 850 se for three years and until now has never skipped a beat.Check this - Saturday I got a crack in my windscreen, Monday a headlamp bulb blew. Wednesday I had a flat tyre and Wednesday evening she would not start. Has she been struck by lightning! Seriously, the Automobile Association mechanic tells me she needs new plugs. Would the old ones carbon up so quickly? She fired up Ok Wednesday morning. Now she's turning over but won't catch. Anyone got any ideas?

    Starting Problem 850

Problem solved! Although I'm not entirely convinced. After changing the plugs, rotor arm and distributor cap she still wouldn't fire. My mechanic the put Easy Start in the cylinders to dissipate any petrol. Then bingo - she started. Flooded engine? I've never had this problem before in 3 years with this car and 5 years with my previous 740. Very strange. Still, she seems OK no0w. Thanks for all your tips. Jack, I found the Fuel Relay OK - emails come back returned to your address.

    Starting Problem 850

I had this problem last week. A little bit of moisture in your gas could be the problem. I left the car with very little gas in it on a cool wet night the next day it did not want to start but would crank. I finally got mine started and took it to the gas station for a full tank of fresh gas. The car runs fine. I would also change the fuel filter if it hasn't been done for awhile your mechanic could be right but a frash tank of gas is cheaper.

My '94 850 turbo began the sometime start and somtimes not start thing, turned out to be the fuel pump relay, quick fix. Do the fuel filter thing anyway.
