Clock Resetting in cold S70 1999

My clock resets to 12:00 when my car is left outside at work while the temperature reaches 20 degrees or less. I reset it and it will go a few days until the temp goes low again. Incidentally, the trip odometer does not reset during this same time. Anyone got any suggestions?

If all electrical connections are ok, then the problem is your battery need replacing. The clock will lose its time during ignition when there is not enough current left in the battery.

I replace mine and now the clock is back to normal.

That's exactly what it was. The battery finally died today and the car wouldn't start. New battery, clock works great. Thanks!

My clock in my 95 850 is a complete piece of garbage. It doesn't light up, it doesn't even keep time - at all. It resets itself in anyweather, goes completely bananas, basically just gets all goofy and makes no sense whatsoever. It is about 99% useless, as if you do set it - it will perhaps keep time for a few hours if you're lucky. I suggest replacing it, I think Volvo in dash clocks probably just kind of suck. Or you can do what I do, and get used to checking your wristwatch.
