Adding heated seats? 850 1995

Hello again, all...

I'm going to be replacing my sun-baked black leather seats in my 1995 850. The seats I'm probably getting have seat heaters in them, while my car does not have them. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to add the wiring harnesses and switches to add heated seats on my car. Would be nice to have a little warmth on the -20 days we have in Minnesota's second season.

Are the wires for the seat heaters present on my car, or would I have to do an entire from scratch kind of installation on this?

Thanks,

Nate

    Adding heated seats? 850 1995

I have a 97 850 Base Wagon with factory heated cloth seats. The switches for the heat are located on either side of the shift lever on the center consol. You may be able to look for the wiring harness under the consol –or- where it comes out from under the carpet under each seat. Volvo has a recall notice out on the wire harness for the heated seats on my model. I do not know if that applies to your vehicle. It may be worth a check to receive the upgraded harness for your installation. Try calling a dealership service department. I live in Minnesota as well. The heated seats are great!
