Has anyone had the 90K mile service done? Was wondering what you all have been charged recently. I understand that this is a major tune-up due to timing chain, etc....Indy dealer gave me a price of $775, and I will check with local dealers.

I try to overlook nothing on maintenance and do as much as possible myself. I contacted a dealership and they stated that in 1999 the replacement mileage of a timing belt was increased to 105m. I will replace most likely at 90-95, however based on belt improvements, etc. the representative told me that they would change at 105m with timing belt, hydraulic tensioner, and water pump if needed. They stated water pumps rarely have to be replaced.

timing belt change is recommended at 70K miles. If you are the original owner do it right away, for about $280 at the dealer(the other items can wait for now), otherwise you're asking for major repair bills if the belt breaks.

If you're not the original owner, then make sure that t-belt has not been done already.

Other items at 90K service are do it yourself: ie, spark plugs, rotor, dist cap, ignition wires, oil change, fuel filter , air filter, etc.

I had the equivalent 105K service done on my 2000. Included filters and oil change. Expensive, but I did not feel comfortable doing the t-belt as I would ny b230f's.

Also if the transmission hasn't been flushed recently, do it or insist that it be done.
