Alarm System Service Required? S80 1999

I'm getting an 'alarm system service required' message that keeps popping up on my display. The alarm system is functioning fine. Anyone else had this problem & how did they solve it without bothering their local dealer?

You need to read the fault codes from the central electrical module. As far as I know, dealer trip required. The alarm system on the S80 is not a seperate system, but integrated with other systems on the car. It involves at least 5 control units, along with various switches and sensors.
