Why are you "hoping to remove it?"
As Frank said, it doesn't do any harm to keep it in place.
If you ever sell this car, its one thing if the A/C doesn't work. It's a completely different issue when half the parts of the A/C system are missing and your prospective buyer turns down the sale 'cause all those little clips, and hangers and brackets that you threw away will cost a thousand dollars to replace. At least, if you leave everything in place, someone can repair the A/C using standard replacement parts.
In the early '80s, I made the same mistake with an early Honday Accord I owned.
