Blinkers not blinking V70-XC70 2000

My blinkers have suddenly stopped working.

When I engage the blinkers, the interior and exterior blinker lights come on but do not blink.

when i engage the flashers, no lights come on.

What might this be?

My V70 2000 had flasher failure twice. The flasher unit can be removed by undoing two screws holding in the ashtray, and then pushing out the whole unit (the front of the unit is actually the Hazard Push Switch). It looks a very complicated piece of electronics, and probably cost over $100. I found it worked after I pulled the wiring socket off and cleaned the contacts. I had one replaced under warranty. Good luck.

Its probaly your hazard switch. That controls the flashing in your turn signals.

I am not sure how it is on 2000 models, but on my 98 you can remove the radio and push the hazard switch out from the back. I am not sure what a new one costs, but that should do it.

Maybe a fuse or a relay? The relay is shared with the emergency
flashers (not sure if this is the case on 2000 models, I think
it is). Do the emergency flashers work?

Yes, it sounds like it's most likely your "flasher relay". It's a simple plug and play unit, though I have no idea where it is on the Volvo yet. It couldn't cost more than $20 for the part, but I could be wrong.
