PCV or FLAME GUARD 850

HI, WHERE IS IT ON A 1997 850 WITH A LOW PRESSURE TURBO? I'M LOOKING BUT I JUST CAN'T SEEM TO FIND IT. THANKS FOR ALL REPLIES.

PCV or FLAME GUARD 850

You surely have a pcv system to vent blow by, but you do not have a flame trap. On a turbo, the blow by gets vented back into the turbo, extinguishing any flame that might be present. Thus, no need for the flame trap that is required for N/A cars.

I don't believe that any 850 volvo turbo has a flame guard/pcv valve. There is positive pressure in the air intake when under boost from the turbo. The flame guard on a non-turbo is just prior to the throttle body, in the air supply hose.

The gases from the crankcase in a turbo are drawn in just prior to the turbo where there is always vacuum and never positive pressure.
