Radiator drain? V70-XC70 2001

Anyone drain/flush their radiator on the XC? I'm guessing that the lower XC trim panel has to be removed before one can access the radiator drain spigot (if there is one) or the lower hose clamp.

There is an access hole in the plastic panel under the radiator, left side, hole is about 1" diameter. Use a 13mm deep socket to loosen the drain cock, then you can take the ratchet off and turn the drain open with the socket. The coolant should drain through the hole without splashing around as long as the plastic panel has not been "repositioned by curbs, dips, etc" Also, there is a block drain on the back side of the engine above the right axle shaft. Once the rad is drained, you will get another quart or so out of the block. WARNING- the radiator drain is PLASTIC, so when you tighten it, be carefull. It just needs to be snugged. Note, both drain cocks have a provision to attach a hose to collect the coolant in a drain pan without mess. I believe about 1/2" hose will fit.

Thanks for the advice, I finally got around to this. Turns out that my 2001 V70 has a draincock that opens with a 6mm allen wrench. I didn't get to the block drain, but I'll keep that in mind next time!
