While getting my S40 gas guage fixed(not!)I spotted a '03/4 S60R with the most beautifull interior!!!!!! It was kind of orangey/red with the same material on the door panel inserts! The seats "Seams" were very prominantly done in a white stiching! The S60 catalogs don't show this interior! What's up? Is it possible to do a similar leather change in my S40??? or do the side air bags prohibit this???I would rather spend 2-4K+ in a new paint/interior job than spend more big bucks on a new Volvo! Bill

if u know someone at the shop even better...they may do it for free if that particular leather is not something they've done before. at least, that's what happened when my friend took his yellow m coupe in for a yellow trimed interior

That interior comes stock with all '04 S60Rs (they're all '04 models) and it's unique to that model. You can't order it for an S40.
An upholsterery shop can install a custom leather interior to your car but it won't come cheap.

Most cars these days have side air bags so if they want to stay in business, they'll have to deal with them. As for cost, have no idea so you'll have to call around local shops in your area, assuming that you're near a somewhat large city where one will find several.
