Will borrow or buy PNP Alignment tool 850

I am going to raplace the PNP switch soon. I know the alignment tool is not mandatory, but I only do this once and do not want to take chances. can anyone lend or sell this tool? Or, is there any safe way to do the job without it? I do have plenty of time and can get help, if this is a two-man job.
Please help.
Yuri

I did not use the tool but you can use an ohm meter or continuity checker if you have one and check for continutity between pins 6 and 7 with the gear selector in Park and Neutral. This is what I did when I changed mine.

Should it be open or closed? -I'm not changing it yet but it's good to know..

Thanks.

I replaced mine about two months ago. No tool, no multimeter. Just scratched the mounting nut locations before removing them and placed new swith in same place. Everything worked fine. probably luck.

Good luck.

Is there anything I need to know in addition to the Bay 13 post? What was the most challenging part?

I have helped in changing two of them and the most difficult thing was getting the old one out. I specifically mean undoing the electrical connection of the old switch. It is difficult to describe but the connector is set in and is in two pieces, and you need to use something like a small screw driver to get the little latches that hold it in to release and pop out. Once that is done the new pnp bits snap in nicely. That difficult disconnect was the only part that stumped me for a while. Maybe someone else has some ideas on that.
