Transmission Shift Problem S40-V40 2001

As soon as the temperature outside is between 40 and 65 the tranny on my V40 frequently mis-shifts when upshifting 3 to 4, at partial throttle. Never at full throttle.
While accelerating 3rd disconnects, the engine revs up from about 2000 to 5000 rpm for several seconds, then 4th comes in, jerking the whole car in the process. Dealer finds no codes, s/w update did nothing, any suggestions? Now at 40,000 mls. Can't trigger it to happen to show, it just happens 1/day.

    Got it back from dealer. Blah blah blah excuses, BS, etc. I'll try to break it before warranty runs out.

      Hi

      Got a software fix from Gotheborg which increased the oil pressure and it also removed the neutral function. This fix is for the latest cars. So i belive your dealer nead to contact headquarter so they can send them this fix. Dont know the name of this fix yet. This was special for me. I told them to send papers on that they have done so im waiting for it and post later when i now.

    When my S40 is cold and I open the throttle all the way, I get a horrible stumble before shifting into 2nd. It's not so much a tranny problem, but the engine starts misfiring terribly and you can even smell gas. Dealer can't reproduce it (because it's hot when I drive it there) and I guess the car will eventually die with the problem. What a deal; another satisfied S40 owner.

    Check out S60 forum on vvspy.com. I have the same problem and my car is a S80 2.4T MY 2001.6 with 5-speed AT.

    I will leave my car tomorrow to workshop. I will post the result.
