O2 sensor change ? 850 1995

My '95 850T has 48k miles. Mileage seems to be down quite a bit although it had a tuneup at 30k and filter change at 39k as well as fuel injection cleaner. The O2 sensor however has never been changed. Although no code/light has turned on, could the sensor be on it's way out? Would It be a good idea to change the sensor now before it does crap out? Just want to make sure my Volvo is running at it's best.

O2 sensor change ? 850 1995

I wouldn't change the O2 sensor unless a code indicated it was bad! I just(yesterday) had to change my front O2 & it was pricey. the part alone was $200. I'll have to see if MPG improves. reasons for decreasing MPG could be any # of things form extra weight in car to wrong tire pressure. Good luck, D

Billy Dee~

How many miles does your 850T have? $200 huh? Dang, that *is* expensive. Do let us know if your MPG increases. Thanks!
