Upgrading Factory Speakers S70

Hello All!

I'm in the market to upgrade my factory speakers. I am uncertain what speakers will fit without any modifications. According to Crutchfield.com 6.75" fit in the front doors and 6.5" in the rear doors & dash. They do not mention depth, which I'm sure is a factor in the doors... which concerns me.

Does anyone know if there is a factory amplifier? ...and if so what the RMS is?

One more thing:) How do the dash speaker grills come off?

Thank you all in advance!

Ray: Ditto on the good link. Very informative. :)

Yohee: Only the dash-mounted tweeter grills can pry off. Use a credit card to lift up the near edge (technically, the rear edge). The door speaker grills can't be removed by prying them off; ditto for the rear deck grills. You'll have to remove the interior door panel and the rear deck panel to get to the speakers underneath.

    YoHee,

The grilles pry off from the front edge.

The factory amp is 200watt w/10%THD. It fits nicely behind the radio.

I added to amp w/stock speakers (8) and really like the sound. Most people would say that the system stinks.

    Oh well.
