Need Help Resetting SRS Light V70-XC70 1999

Hello Gang,

I removed the dash of my '99 V70 to fix a rattle. Doing this, I disconnected the passenger side SRS airbag, causing the red SRS light to stay on on the instrument cluster.

My independent Volvo repair shop told me that the dealer has to hook the car up to a computer to turn off this light and it costs...gulp...$100!

I searched the internet and have not been able to find a fix, I tried the service light reset procedure with the odometer button and the ignition in the run position and that didn't work.

Is spending $100 at the dealer the only cure?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Correct me someone if I'm wrong, but if you have the code for your radio, you can disconnect the battery for ten to fifteen minutes and when you re-connect it, the codes are cleared from the buffer. Sombody confirm or deny this ????

-don't know about the $100 BUT yes, the dealers PC is the only way that code can be read and then reset. I doubt that any generic scan tools can do that.
