Safety light in door 850 1994

The safety light retainers in both front doors has broken and they hang by the wires. Is this a common problem with 850s? Is there a fix short of purchasing new ones? Thank you in advance.

Same thing happened to my 1994 850 sedan. A new light, housing with clips is about $25 at the dealer. It's best just to buy a new one, you get the whole unit, bulb, and everything.

    Probably is.

My 96 wagon inexplicably broke it's retainers and I had to replace the units.

I'm sure it is possible to close your door on the seatbelt buckle and break these lights. So the problem may not be entirely Volvo-related.

If I remember, the retainer is molded-in to the lamp housing, so you have to replace the whole thing.
