computer bad? S70

Anybody have a problem with 98 s70 turbo setting check engine light and blowing #5 fuse under hood. Pulled 11 codes dealing with all emissions related items that were powered by that fuse. Checked with multimeter and found that fuse was shorted to ground until I unplugged the motronic computer. Any similar experiences?

Found the %#$%@&% problem. Found one of the wires where it goes down into the harness at the back of the A/C compressor had rubbed through another wire. Wierd.

Have seen a few cases of the PCV heater shorting out, blowing the fuse. The component in question is mounted in the fresh air hose near the turbo. It has a hose attached (about 5/8") and a two wire conector. It's difficult to see/access. Try unplugging the wire and see if the fuse continues to blow. I believe you have to buy the fresh air hose as a unit to replace it.

I've unplugged the pcv heater, both HO2S, PAIR relay, EVAP solenoid, and canister purge solenoid. Still blows fuse. Looked in Volvo S70 motronic 4.4 supplement book and found that there are a couple more things on that fuse. Guess I'll keep searching.
