HELP!! With Radio V70-XC70

I own a 98 V70 GLT I recently bought used. I had to replace the battery and the Radio now says "CODE" after entering wrong code numbers it then said "OFF". I went ahead and called the dealer and they told me the code that was entered into the original radio...went ahead and entered it after waiting 2 hours with the ignition in the first position and that did not work. Now they say I have to bring it in and they have to take the radio out and find the code. Is there any info that I can give them if I yank the radio out that could spare me from their $80/hr rate for labor? Please help!!

    I had a similar problem with mine after the battery was replaced and the dealer supplied code was for the original radio - not the upgraded one that the original owner had installed.

    I had taken the radio out before to fix the 'stuck CD' problem. On the top of the radio someone had penned the new code that was needed to reactivate the radio.
