Why no boost guage on my '98 V70 T5?! V70-XC70 1998

Just bought a 98V70 T5, 36K miles... love the car so far. But, just noticed (after three days) it has no boost guage?! Why not? My 88 760 does...

just curious.
thanks

My 94 854t has one, but it's useless, other than showing boost is on, it tells nothing. My 98 R wagon had none, so I added one. I guess the thinking it since the ECU controlls the boost, you don't need to worry about it. If you modify you should have a gauge.

Sad, isn't it? Volvo is sometimes inscrutable, if not incomprehensible. Did they think those who are nervous about turbos would somehow forget they had one if there was no gauge to remind them?

I added the VDO boost gauge (egauges.com) in the ashtray bay, just ahead of the shifter. Now that I have 99K on the odometer, I'm thinking of re-arranging my entire center console to get the boost gauge up closer to eye level. I don't like the A-pillar location many brickheads use, and for which there is a special mounting pod - it makes the gauge far too prominent.

SVC 70s don't have a boost gauge, unless you add one.
