Replace Alternator Brushes S70 1998

Does anyone know if you can replace the brushes in the alternator? In many cars you can replace the brushes and regulator as a unit. Is this a volvo part, and any experience with how long in miles before they typically go?

thanks.

my '94 855M is 400 miles shy of 250,000 mi. still on original alternator. Worry about something else...maybe why our crazed gov't wants to go to war!

I imagine you can. I've done it on my past RWD Volvos (both Bosch and Nippondenso alternators, as late as MY 1994). The voltage regulator and brushes are a single unit in my experience, and I paid $60 or so. You can probably get them from Foreign Autopart or any reputable retailer/online parts supplier.
