Plastic styling around tailight 850

I'm looking to buy a 96 or 97 850 turbo over the next few months, and have already gotten some helpful tips on this board.

My next question concerns a plastic "styling" around the tailight assembly. It is usually black, and is located in the area between the rear license plate and the tailight assembly. I've noticed that some 850's have it, and some don't. (On the 850's that don't have it, there is nothing but metal between the license plate and the tailight assembly.)

Anyone know what I'm talking about? If so, does anyone know if the plastic styling is limited to certain years or models of the 850?

Thanks.

The plastic "styling" around the tailight assembly came on model year 1995. The original tailights where used 1992-1994. Some 1994 models have the new double headligts and the new bumper design used on 1995 and later.

93 & Some 94 850 do not have the Trim, Wider headlight 6 inches tall, different bumperss & for lights & four lug wheels are the main exterior difference. But all 95,96 & 97 850 have the trim, 5 lug wheels, 5 inch headlights and bumpers without rthe slits with oval fog lights.

1993 all models and 1994 non-turbo models had the 6 inch headlights, etc... From 1995 all models were updated, with a change to the tail lights only (no more amber signal, added light extention (that plastic piece) So basically it wasnt until '95 when the "plastic trim" came on the car.
