CEL Due to Short Term Fuel Trim - Running Rich 850 1997

I'm stumped. Got a CEL due to misfires a couple weeks ago so I changed all the plugs and reset the light.

Yesterday I got another CEL but this time the codes were for running rich. The short term fuel trim was cut all the way back to where it set off the light.

Any ideas of where to look and what to look for? No O2 sensor codes.
Could it be the MAF? How do I check the MAF for proper readings?
Any other ideas?

Have you checked the air filter and intake plumbing for obstructions? Also, it's possible it could still be an ignition problem. How's the car been running since you changed the plugs?

You could have a minor air leak in the hoses from the turbo to the intake manifold, which opens up under pressure (seems sometimes part of the outer skin of the hose tears in a 'flap' and not a real hole/tear).

Not bad enough to cause drivability problems, but you may be reaching the limits of compensation of the ECU.

    Bye, Arno.

Are you sure the code is for rich and not lean? Vacuum line leaks
will trigger a lean error (once trim is set as far as possible).
    (This from info at http://volvospeed.com/Repair/vacuum_lines.htm).
