I was newer car shopping last thurday during the deluge that went through NJ and was actually glad that the weather was bad (it gave me a chance to test in real life conditions). I wanted to test an AWD S70 that was advertised, but one of the salesmen had taken it home. It did get to drive a 99 GLT w/ traction control. It drove great, except on an uphill stop I spun the tires even with traction control on. Previously I had tested an Audi A4 w/ Quattro and it handled the hill flawlessly. I'd still prefer a Volvo, but will probably want to go the AWD route as we live in a hilly area and sould like the added security of AWD.
For all you S70 AWD owners, are you satisfied with your purchase, did you feel the AWD was worth it, or will I be fine w/ just rhe FWD.
Thanks,
Peeter
