Any good links to engine detailing? 850

I like a clean engine. Not that mine is terrible dirty but I was wondering how do people keep their daily driver's engine compartment so clean. How do you get to all the little nooks and crannies to clean them? It not dirty enough to to spray Gunk on but just a bit too dusty to look neat. Do I spray things with water or just wipe them with a damp rag? What type of products works best for plastic and rubber parts in this high temp environment? Any tips you could recommend?

There is an excellent article in the current ROLLING ( VCOA ). I strongly recomend that anyone whom enjoys Volvo's subscribe. It has paid for itself with just the parts discounts that I have received from promotors. I do not work for them but really enjoy the articles.

Water's not good 850

If you hose the engine down with water, be prepared to remove the upper plastic cover, spark plug boots and blow water out of those holes with compressed air or you'll have a misfiring engine and it can set fault codes too. Water on other electrical connectors can also create problems so beware.
