Spark Plug Changeout on a GLT S70 2000

I am trying to change the spark plugs in my vehicle and have a couple of questions:

Are the 5 spark plugs located under a long, rectangular silver/metal plate towards the front of the engine? If so, after unscrewing the two bolts on the top of this cover, I have found that the cover still won't come off.

Can you please supply me with a step-by-step method of how to access the plugs so that I may change them?

I believe what you were looking at are actually fuel injectors. That was close.

In the center between the cams. Plastic black cover (8 or 10 screws) says Volvo, is obvious.
