Rough Shifting V70-XC70 2001

Help please with rough shifting on cool mornings at start up. Our 2001 XC with 20k miles makes abrubt shifts. Are there recalls or trans fluid issues we should know about? Thanks in advance for your ideas.

    I have a 2001 xc with the hard shifting problem also. Last summer I complained enough that the volvo dealership downloaded software to correct a number of issues, that being one of them. I've noticed a slight improvement but am still unhappy with the how it shifts and have told my dealer. I had a 1999 xc wagon prior to this and wish I still had that vehicle. It had more get up and go and shifted without incident. Have volvo at least install the software upgrade but don't expect miracles.

    No recalls. This trans requires specific fluid. The factory fill is synthetic. There is a software upgrade and adaptive reset available to improve shift quality. See your dealer.
