Is there anyway to get the cracks out of my seats? 850 1997

I bought my 850 with the passenger side seat leather very dried and cracked up. It isn't "totally" through the leather yet, but I can see it getting there soon. Any ideas on repair? Is this normal? The previous owner seemed skinny.
Thank you.

I replaced some panels on my front seats. It cost around $450.
Then I covered them with sheepskin seat covers.

I used the Leaterique conditioner on my seats and it did soften the leather up quite a bit. They also have leather repair kits that I have read about and are endorsed by the Rolls Royce clubs and BMW also. It will smooth out the cracks a bit and soften the leather.

one other product that i always use on all kinds of leather - even new leather. and that is Neasfoot Oil. It soaks into leather. it seems to work a little on my seats. Then, after a while, I use conditioner

Try a search of the archives. One product (I'm sure there are many) that has gotten good reviews (here) is

    http://www.leatherique.com/

No guarantees, I've not used the product and I order cars with fabric seats whenever I can. I just think it's more comfortable, more durable too.

Leather is an organic material, consider the wear as patina, the same way a leather jacket acquires a nice wear pattern with age.

So do I - and I haven't yet seen a leather Brooks Brother's suit - but neither wool nor leather will last as long as that miracle manmade modern material - vinyl.

I do have a vinyl (college) windbreaker today, since I'm in the Pennsylvania back office, and not in the showplace Manhattan office. It should last longer than I will.

I've never heard of any method that would restore damaged leather. I'd guess the best you could hope for is to use Lexol cleaner and conditioner and hope for the best. I'll be doing mine soon as the front seats are feeling pretty dry.

Occasionally on ebay I've seen Volvo OEM leather seat covers for auction.
