Driver's lovehandle support not working... 850 1995

Hello,

Small issue as I'm not uncomfortable but my 855t's driver's lumbar support knob just turns and squeaks. Not doing anything I can feel. Any insight? I really don't want to go into the seat (side airbag equipped).

Thanks,
Erwin in Memphis

The prior owner may have had the seat apart to fix the dreaded seatback adjustment cable, a common failure, and did not put the lumbar knob back on correctly. I had this situation this summer when I replaced the seatback cable and the knob has to be pushed on and turned at the same time.

Sounds like it is broken...you should definately feel the lower back adjusting when turning the knob. This the first I have heard of a 850 with broken lumbar support. Typically older Volvos (twenty and older) have broken lumbar supports. Repair kits are available for the older cars...

Thanks for the responses. This is a very minor thing that I was curious about. I'll look into it further after I have a few other items sorted.
