DBA disks 850 1995

Does anyone out ther have any comments/experience with DBA (disk brakes australia : http://www.dba.com.au/home.htm) disks for an 850 . I see on their site you can get slotted or cross drilled and slotted.

    Andries,
I looked at using dba's for my 240GL approx 5 years ago as they were $A160 dollars each rather than $A220 ea for genuine, however someone put me on to a mob in Sydney called ASV I think. They had Brembo's for $A75 ea plus $10 to ship to Adelaide. Check out the Yellow pages under auto parts recyclers, in Adelaide there is an entry for Vparts (ph 132750) which I reckon is a branch of ASV.
    regards....Valvo

I don't have any experience with dba for the 850, but I believe they are very good. I currently own a Falcon xr6 and on the website www.nswxrclub.org.au alot of the people have replaced the standard Ford crapp with the dba slotted rotors and Bendix ultimates pads. Some have also used the cross drilled, but I believe from reading their posts that alot have experienced cracking of the rotors.
What type of 850 do you own? You may have seen my post, but I'm looking at buying an 850-R in the near future? Any comments/suggestions? I have been told about Precision Automotive Sevices in Mascot that specialise in volvo repairs. Would they be a good source of info?

    Cheers
    Stew

      Hi Stew

I stay in SA and the dba is one supplier available, the others are ebc and then Volvo. I won't be able to help you any of your local suppliers but I can tell you that the T5R can kick some serious bud, I'm actually in the process of organizing a test drive of a modded s70 and it would be intresting to see th diff in performance. Personally i selected the car because supposedly only 12 were imported. I know some people say the T5R is quicker than the 850R but according to the factory specs it should not be but I think we've all read different opinions.

I would say that if there is a high permium to be paid between the T5 and R , it is better to go for a better T5 (less km etc), ( tyres are cheaper) and then spend money on a chip, strutbrace and exhaust.

      Cheers,
      A
