widest tires possible on a t5r 850

I am in the market for new tires and want that wide look but also understand that is not always the best choice for handling. I have the 17" titans but I am not sure what the rim width is?(If anyone knows please let me know) I want to go at least 225/45/17 but would like to know if it is possible to go to 235 or even 245 with those rims, keeping in my I won't drive this in the snow.     7 inch width. 225/45/17 may fit on the wheel, depending on tire manufacturer. but u'd run into gearing problems because it's actually a bit larger than the 205/45/17. u also might need to have the fenders rolled to avoid rubbing.

      225/45/17 will rub. Even 215/40/17 is going to rub at times. The widest I would even think about is 215/40/17.

        I hade the Titans and 215x40x17 no rubbing probs at all, personally I wish I would have gone with 214x45x17 since my suspension was not lowered, I already totaled the car so I dont have to worry about it though =(. Anywayz I wanted to go to 225x40x17 but I was told it would most likely rub, and I would have to have my fenders rolled. Best of luck.

          got bridgestone s02 215-45-17, not rubbed yet. i know the feeling cause i sat in friend's a4 with 2 other 200+lb guys in the back and everytime we went over a dip on freeway u'd hear a tsssss noise. anyway, tirerack informed me that they would rub, but i went ahead with them. seems my ipd springs and bilstein shocks are a bit stiff so doesn't allow the tire to move up all the way to touch fender. might also be i have 5mm spacers up front.

            I had a V70. lowered from factory with the Volvo sports chassis though. I mounted 215/45-17, but not on original Volvo wheels. I'm not quite sure about the offset of the "Titans", but I guess it is 43mm. My wheels where 7.5x17" with 35mm offset - and the rear tires rubed, only a bit but they did. With the "Titans" you should be able to mount 215/45-17 without any problem.
