Coupe filter 850 1996

Hi everyone out there...
I´ve bought a coupefilter to my 850 -96 mostly to protect my evap.
Does somebody know if the ECC have to be reprogrammed when adding
this filter.

    I assume you are talking about the pollen filter. We had a big yet inconclusive discussion here recently over whether the ECC had to be re-programmed when the more expensive/restrictive carbon/paper filter is installed. That's because the instructions that come with that particular filter specifically state that the ECC should be re-programmed. But nobody seems to know exactly HOW the ECC should be re-programmed, while a number of other people said it was not necessary in spite of what the instructions said. In my mind the issue was never resolved satisfactorily...

      Cabin filter story resolved before.... 850 1996

      It was concluded IMHO. The conclusion was that what was mentioned in those instructions wasn't an issue in the US market cars and that as often seen with Volvo literature, what's mentioned there about programing doesn't apply to cars sold in the US, not 850s either.
      Now, I have no idea what markets might need programing (newer X70 cars too btw, NOT 850s) but no matter what, it's simply not an issue in the US.
      The newer X70s that require use of the Volvo Vadis PC does have an option for with/without cabin filter BUT ALL X70s in the US come with cabin filters SO NO programing needs to be done. Apparently not all X70s sold everywhere in the world have cabin filters included as a standard feature from Volvo.
      For 850s in the US, no programing exists to add or change anything regarding that filter.

    You do NOT need any programing. Just install the kit and filter.
