hi everyone i notice im hearing a clunk coming from drivers side when i come to a stop light and also notice when i move the gearshift from park to drive does it sound like i might have a nosy axle on drivers side do not hear clicking sound while turning either or engine mount

Engine mount. You are correct, if the CV joint was bad it would clicking when turning at low speed.

thanks jw i will do further investigation and ill get back to you and the day i had it jacked up in my yard i started jerking the driver side axle it has play while shaking it

It’s supposed to have some play. The drive axle uses CV joints not U-joints to transfer power to the wheel. The CV joints are mounted in grease and will move some.

When a CV joint (drive axle) goes bad it typically clicks when turning. Or if bad enough it can seize.

Your problem sounds like a bad engine mount to me.

right as i recalled all 4 engine mounts i know about were change in the last 2yrs is there some mount on the drivers side im missing like near the subframe

Did you replace the tranny mount? It’s on the driver’s side near the subframe (don’t know exactly where). Also, there is an upper engine mount facing the driver on top. Believe it’s called the upper engine torque mount or something like that… Haven’t owned a 5 cylinder Volvo in awhile… Anyway, check for cracks and distortion in the rubber. It’s right on top near the distributor and easily visible.
