12 volt socket 98 v70 V70-XC70

well, i have reinhereted our old 98 v70 from our three kids that learned to drive on it. I am now using it to commute to work. Oddly, the 12v socket [cigar lighter] on the front console and the rear one do not work any longer. I need to use them with an adapter to charge phone etc. Checked for voltage..none on either. Checked the #30 fuse. it had a bit of corrosion on one of the tabs so i assumed that might be the problem. cleaned it and checked it for continuity. all good. reinstalled it and checked it for voltage on both poles...good there so any idea what else besides a broken wire somewhere.

Hi Mike,

If you read +12VDC at fuse 30 that's a good start.
Next see if you have +12VDC at the cigar lighter with your meter.
You may have lost the ground path, maybe the ground connector is off.
You can check the ground connection with everything off with your ohm meter

Hi Mike

The ignition key needs to be in KP-I or KP-II to see +12VDC at the cigar lighters.

You confirmed +12VDC at fuse 30.

There's a Y-VO wire from fuse 30 pin 2 to connector 24/2A pin 12
This connector in the cabin in back of the light switch
Then there's a Y-VO) wire to connector 24/7A pin 15
This connector in the console by the shifter lever
Then: a Y-W wire to the rear lighter and
a Y-VO wire to the front lighter

Provide your email and I'll send the schematic and location pictorial
that shows the connector pinouts so you track the wire and locate
the fault. It may be a bad/ broken pin at one of the connectors.

Bill
